Choose Your Driveway Surface

Three Premium Surfaces. One Proper Installation Standard.

Resin, block paving and gravel each suit different homes, budgets and levels of use. The surface matters, but the preparation underneath matters more. We help you choose the right finish, then install it with the correct base, edges and drainage from the start.

Surface 01

Block Paving

A strong, traditional driveway surface with clean lines, defined borders and a wide choice of block styles. Block paving works well for busy family driveways, larger parking areas and properties where pattern, edging and detail need to look sharp.

Surface 02

Resin-Bound Driveways

A smooth, modern driveway surface with a clean stone finish and no loose gravel. Resin-bound is a strong choice for homeowners who want a neat entrance, good drainage and a more refined finish than standard gravel or tarmac.

Surface 03

Gravel & Shingle

A practical choice for larger driveways, rural properties and homes where a natural stone finish suits the setting. We use angular aggregate, firm edging and proper preparation so the driveway looks clean, drains well and stays usable.

Choose the Finish That Suits the Property

Resin-bound, block paving and gravel all create a different look and feel. The right choice depends on the house, the size of the driveway, how it will be used and the level of detail you want at the front of the property.

The finish is only part of the job. A good driveway also needs the right preparation underneath, accurate levels, solid edging and drainage considered before the surface goes down.

What Sits Under the Driveway

A Good Driveway Starts Before the Surface Goes Down

Most driveway problems do not start with the surface you can see. They start underneath, where the ground was not dug out enough, the base was too thin, the edges were not held properly or water had nowhere sensible to go.

That is why we treat the preparation as the main part of the job. Resin, block paving and gravel all need a firm, well-prepared base beneath them if the finished driveway is going to stay clean, level and usable.

A cheap driveway can look tidy on the day it is finished. The difference shows later, when vehicles, weather and water start testing the base, the edges and the drainage.

01

Dig Out the Weak Ground

We remove the unsuitable surface material first, rather than building over soft ground, loose soil or failing old layers. The correct depth depends on the surface, the levels and the existing ground conditions.

02

Separate the Ground from the Base

A geotextile membrane is used where required to keep the prepared ground and the stone base separated. This helps the driveway structure stay cleaner and more stable underneath.

03

Build a Proper Stone Foundation

The sub-base is built with the correct aggregate for the surface being installed, then compacted properly in layers. This is what gives the driveway its strength under daily vehicle use.

04

Set Levels, Edges and Drainage

Before the final surface is installed, we check levels, falls, edging and drainage. These details control how the driveway looks, how water behaves and how well the finished surface holds together.
